Birth
The late Loise Njeri Maina was born in 1943 in Kamundu Village, Gathukeini Sub-location, Gaturi Ward, Murang’a County. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jamleck Kabochi Ndindi and Agnes Wanjiku Kabochi.
She was a cherished sister to the late Njeri Mukunya, the late Esther Wangui Macharia, Truphena Gathoni Magu, Francis Mwangi Kabochi, the late Danson Kahindo, James Ireri Kabochi, and Esther Wanjiru Mundia.
Upbringing
Loise was raised in a loving family environment, just like other children of her generation. She grew up as a respectful, obedient, and disciplined child, embracing the values and traditions that shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.
Education
In keeping with the customs of the time, Loise received traditional education, where she was taught the responsibilities, values, and virtues expected of a young Kikuyu girl. These lessons prepared her well for family life and community responsibilities.
Marriage and Family
In 1965, Loise met the love of her life, Elijah Maina Martha, and together they built a loving and devoted family. Their marriage was blessed with five children:
- The late Mwangi
- Susan Wacera Njathi
- The late Agnes Wanjiku Maina
- Caroline Wangui Ngigi
- Patrick Kabochi Maina
She was a devoted wife and a caring mother who dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her family with unwavering love.
Christian Life
Loise was baptised at ACK St. Peter’s Gaitheri and was later confirmed in 1989 by Rt. Rev. John Mahiani. She remained a faithful and committed member of the Anglican Church throughout her life, serving God with humility and steadfast faith until her passing.
Work
Loise passionately embraced farming and took great pride in her work. She remained a hardworking, diligent, and dedicated farmer throughout her life, providing for her family and serving as an example of resilience and commitment.
Illness and Passing
Loise lived a healthy, joyful, and hardworking life until 2024, when she began experiencing health challenges. During her illness, she received treatment at Murang’a Hospital on several occasions.
On 14th June 2024, her condition worsened, and she was admitted to Kiriani Mission Hospital. Despite the efforts of her family and the medical team, God called her home on the morning of 28th June 2024.
She was 81 years old.
Legacy
Loise leaves behind her loving husband, devoted children, cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, friends, and all whose lives she touched through her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Her life was a testimony of faith, hard work, humility, and selfless service. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, a caring mother, a dedicated farmer, and a faithful Christian whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
